Why do we partner with board-certified veterinary surgeons?
Working with a mobile board-certified surgeon ensures your pet has access to top-level surgical care without leaving the comfort and familiarity of Firehouse. This creates a smooth experience, ensuring you and your pet feel supported at every step.
How does a mobile surgeon benefit your pet?
In addition to providing next-level precision and expertise, mobile surgeons help pets by:
Keeping care in a familiar place
Your pet can have their surgery and follow-up care performed in a place they know and trust. This can help lower anxiety, stress, and related behaviors.
Working alongside a team that truly knows your pet
The Firehouse team keeps your pet comfortable while also sharing valuable details with the surgeon—like your pet’s medical history, personality, and preferences. This teamwork builds trust, improves communication, supports a faster recovery, and creates a better overall experience.
How does a mobile surgeon benefit pet parents?
Mobile specialists provide valuable advantages beyond the surgical suite, such as:
- Convenience: No need to travel to a specialty hospital or referral center.
- Confidence: Your pet’s diagnosis and care are in expert hands.
- Coordinated care: Our team will handle scheduling for you.
- Communication: Our mobile specialists are invested in your pet’s care and available for questions and support.
- Collaboration with primary veterinarian: Your pet’s Firehouse care team is directly involved in treatment, ensuring seamless communication without delays.
What common procedures are performed by mobile surgeons?
Surgereies commonly performed by our board-certified mobile surgeons include:
- Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO)
- Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) repair
- Orthopedic fracture repair
- Patellar luxation correction
- Select advanced soft tissue surgeries
What is a TPLO?
Tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) is one of the surgeries commonly performed by our board-certified mobile surgeons. This procedure repairs a torn cranial cruciate ligament (CCL), which is similar to the ACL in humans. Because the procedure requires advanced training, precise techniques, and special equipment, it’s rarely performed by a general veterinarian.
Working with a board-certified mobile surgeon helps us give your dog the best chance at a smooth recovery and a safe return to normal activity, while connecting you to expert support.
